Teaching Kids to CARE with a Tree Planting Project

On August 27, 2014, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur together with Hilton Worldwide-APAC IT Conference delegates along with 40 children from HOPE Worldwide Malaysia and local primary school of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Suria Kuala Lumpur took on the event to show their corporate responsibility by planting 200 trees at the centre of the developing field of the surrounding community playground, Taman Tan Yew Lai Kuala Lumpur. The event, supported by City Hall of Kuala Lumpur, saw a total of 160 participants ultimately served the purpose of contributing to the earth and making the world a better place. The event also supports Hilton Worldwide’s Corporate Responsibility commitment to “Travel with Purpose”, where “Living Sustainably” through the measurement, analysis and improvement of the use of natural resources is one of four important pillars of “Travel with Purpose”. Over the past ten years, DoubleTree by Hilton has helped mentor more than five million grade school students in more than 200 cities worldwide as part of the Teaching Kids to CARE program.
